Alex Bolzak attended Roger Williams University in Rhode Island for both his Bachelor
of Science and Master's Degree in Architecture. While in attendance at RWU he studied
abroad for a semester in Florence at the Institute for Fine & Liberal Arts at
Palazzo Rucellia, with a concentration on Italian architecture and urban planning.
In his fourth year of school Alex served as the President of his school's AIAS chapter,
serving as a student representative for the school of architecture to the university
administration. In 2005 Alex represented the Roger Williams School of Architecture
at the national AIAS conference in New Orleans.
In Graduate school Alex worked on several projects with international faculty focusing
on urban and sustainable design. The most significant of these being housing in
Chandigarh, India for families with little or no income.
In the spring of 2007 Alex moved to Colorado and joined BASIS Architecture. Following
a life-long dream to live and work in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, inspired
as much by the scenery as by the cultural and architectural expression of the area.
