During a heavy snowstorm in March of 2003 the campus chapel roof collapsed. The opportunity was seized to re-build and improve the facility, adding a stage and meeting space. A small portion of existing roof that resisted the storm was incorporated into a completely new exterior design, following the precedent set by the recently completed Staff Housing building.
The new roof incorporated exposed tongue-and-groove decking and glued-laminated beams combining with wood wainscot on the walls to provide a warm and comfortable worship and meeting space. Put on a fast-track schedule, the building was re-opened before the end of the same summer.
